Defaulter Song R Net Download

Gayle King of CBS This Morning has had quite a year. With her groundbreaking interview with R. Kelly and being listed as one of Time Magazine's 100 Most Influential, the lead anchor of the morning news program has risen to become one of today's most revered journalists.

Since her notoriety has gone up over the past year, so has King's salary, bringing her net worth to a considerably higher number.

The interview

Though King has been a hard-hitting journalist for decades, her interview with musician R. Kelly, who has multiple allegations of sexual assault against him, put her on the map like never before. When the accused rapper began to crumble under questioning and eventually started to throw an emotional tantrum, King's calm demeanor under pressure had everyone from late-night talk show hosts to esteemed fellow journalists repeating King's now infamous gentle reprimand of "Robert… Robert…"

"If there was a thought bubble, it'd be like, 'Okay, you have to sit here and wait until he's done with whatever he's doing,'" King recalled to the according to the Washington Post. "My sole motivation at that point was, 'Please don't let him leave. Please don't let him leave.' I really did believe it was a breakdown; he was so angry. He went from zero to a two to a six to an eight to a 12. All right before my eyes."

King was able to get Kelly to cool down and resume the interview. "I think people were surprised that in that moment I didn't run out of the room or I didn't say, 'Hey, don't do that.' I really did just let him be," King said, acknowledging that her handling of the volatile situation changed the course of her career. "The fact that I just sat there, I think it was very surprising to people. It was a game-changer."

One person who was not surprised at King's steady demeanor in the midst of Kelly's explosive outburst was her bestie, Oprah Winfrey. "[R. Kelly] was a very telling and seminal moment for people to see her in a way that she hadn't been seen," Winfrey told the Hollywood Reporter. "But I will tell you, absolutely nothing about her ability to handle that interview surprised me. Because I had seen her do that in many other circumstances."

Perfect timing

The R. Kelly interview in March couldn't have been come at a better time for King, who's two-year deal with CBS was due for renegotiation within the year. After the sit-down with Kelly went viral, King began fielding offers from other news networks including CNN and ABC News.

"It's not like I planned it — like, 'I'm in contract negotiations, I need to try to do something here,' " King told the Hollywood Reproter. "It didn't work like that. But I am not naive. It couldn't have come at a better time for me. It's just one of those things."

Her colleagues noticed King's ear being bent to the offers. "I got the distinct sense that Gayle had at least one foot out the door," her co-anchor Anthony Mason said. "She wasn't gone, so there was always a chance of keeping her. But there was a fair bit of momentum in the other direction."

Her BFF encouraged King to be strategic in her negotiations. "I said, 'Get what you want. Get exactly what you want because now's the time," Winfrey revealed. "'And if you don't get what you want, then make the next right move.' Even without me, she was going to do that."

New contract, new net worth

The CBS This Morning lead anchor played her hand well. King's new contract with CBS is worth $11 million annually, doubling her previous pay, as noted by the Hollywood Reporter. "I feel a lot of privilege," King said. "I am now a part of that history. Let's see what we do."

According to Celebrity Net Worth, King's net worth prior to her renewed contract was $20 million. Now, post-negotiations and post-R. Kelly, that number has risen to $30 million.
